Our Voices Matter: Latinx Family Engagement Event Recap

In April, DPS Latinx families came together at W.G. Pearson to talk about what they look for in a school.

While the children played nearby, parents discussed the importance of having clear and timely communication, the changes that they would like to see in the food offered to all children and the importance of seeing Latinx cultures represented throughout our schools.  

We're so appreciative to El Futuro, Mamas con Poder, Centro Hispano, Student U, Durham County Cooperative Extension, Durham County Library, City of Durham and DPS staff for their partnership and Latinx Duke students for joyful childcare.

We all left knowing that collectively we can work to support our public schools to be the schools for All.
