HOPE Learning Centers Resource Guide
What are HOPE Learning Centers? HOPE (Harnessing our Partnerships for Education) Learning Centers are designed safe, welcoming and supportive communities for young people K-12 to access while completing their online learning.
Our goals are to provide students:
Safe and supportive space to complete DPS online learning.
Two meals a day and snacks throughout the day to sustain learning.
Activities and experiences which increase the social and emotional capacity of our young
people during this challenging time (Art, coding, restorative circles, STEM, leadership, etc),
Recreation/physical activity
What safety precautions will be used to keep children and staff safe during COVID? With safety as a priority, all centers will adhere to all local, state and federal guidelines for childcare during COVID 19. In addition students will be:
1. Assigned into fixed learning pods with no more than 12 children.
2. Will screened daily upon entering the building. Anyone who does not pass the screening will
be sent home.
3. Required to wear masks while at Learning Centers and kept 6 feet apart.
4. Anyone who starts to demonstrate potential COVID symptoms will be sent home and will
not be able to return on premises without a negative COVID test and/or quarantine period.
