Born and raised in Goldsboro, NC, Euba graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1989 and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1993) as a secondary math education major with the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship. Coming from a long line of educators, Euba gained a passion for teaching early. While at UNC, Euba continued her track career as a walk-on athlete and became a captain and an All-American track athlete.

Euba began her career with Durham Public Schools in 1994 as a 7th-grade and eventually 8th grade math teacher at Sherwood Githens Middle School. She was also the assistant track and field coach and girls’ 7th and 8th grade basketball head coach.

In 2000, Euba began teaching math at Hillside High School. Euba was a district lead for the Integrated Math curriculum for several years. She was also a member of Hillside’s Instructional Support Team (IST), where she and the other IST members developed their skills as teacher leaders to assist teachers and provide professional development at the school.

Euba was the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator and in later years became the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator. Euba successfully ran the IB Diploma Programme until her retirement after 30 years of creditable experience in June 2023.

During her time at Hillside, Euba served as the women’s JV basketball assistant coach, cross country assistant coach, assistant and head women’s and men’s track and field coach as well as the assistant athletic director. As a track and field coach, she won seven North Carolina High School Athletic Association State Championships (2002-2005, 2016-2018). As the Assistant Athletic Director, she oversaw the operations of all Hillside sports through hiring and eligibility; and was a mainstay at the ticket booth and concession stand at basketball and football games.

In Euba’s “free time,” she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and traveling. She is a member of the Alpha Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and was a coach/head coach of Triangle Champions Track Club. She is also a member of Orange Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she sings in the Unity Choir and taught Sunday School.  Prior to joining the DPSF team, Euba was a board member of Crayons2Calculators. which is now under DPSF.

Euba lives in Durham with her husband and is extremely proud of her adult daughter and son who both graduated from Durham Public Schools and are now adulting in Durham and Los Angeles, respectively.
