Dasiané Branch

PROGRAM MANAGER, POST-SECONDARY SUCCESS

dasiane@bullcityschools.org

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dasiané has always had a deep passion for education. From an early age, she was inspired by the impact a great teacher can have, and in her middle school yearbook, she wrote to her favorite teacher, now a lifetime mentor, “I can’t wait to impact students’ lives the way you’ve impacted mine.” This early commitment to making a difference set the stage for her professional journey.

Her career began after graduating from Morgan State University and becoming a Teach for America Corps Member, she relocated to Durham to teach middle school science at Neal Middle School. During her time at Neal Middle School, her students consistently achieved outstanding results, holding the highest school-wide EOG proficiency percentage and 8th-grade science proficiency for five years in a row. In the 2018-19 school year, her students exceeded growth expectations, a testament to her dedication and impact. She developed a profound love for science, driven by the joy of watching students—experience their "aha" moments when they realized they loved science and could understand it. This sparked a lifelong dedication to supporting students and helping them see their full potential.

After earning a Master’s in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she went on to serve as a Principal Intern in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, where she gained valuable leadership experience in fostering academic growth and supporting educators. This role, along with her background in teaching, helped her develop a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students and educators in creating equitable educational experiences.

Now, as the Post-Secondary Success Program Manager, she continues to advocate for educational equity by coordinating programs that provide students with the resources and support they need to access higher education. In this role, she collaborates with community partners to ensure students have the tools they need to succeed beyond high school.

With a blend of experience in teaching, school leadership, and program management, she is passionate about creating spaces where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Her work is driven by the belief that all students, regardless of background, deserve the opportunity to realize their full potential and succeed in their academic journey.

When she’s not working, you can find her practicing yoga or pilates, traveling the world, or back in New York spending time with her mother and younger brother.
